MSD busca Assoc Dir -Regional Indirect Procurement, responsable del abastecimiento estratégico de categorías indirectas dentro de la región de EMEA y Canadá.

This position acts as a strategic business partner who leads the necessary changes to ensure the delivery of sustainable value by supporting global leverage in full alignment with Stakeholders and the GP (Global Procurement) Team. This position develops, executes and prioritizes category strategies, sourcing strategies and initiatives within region which are in alignment with Global Procurement and business stakeholders, and in full compliance with the company Policies and Standards. This position provides leadership and direction for regional procurement activities, by bringing together World Class Procurement practices combined with strong business knowledge including detailed proactive source plans that will add value to all of oru company

s customers.  


Primary Activities


Primary activities include, but are not limited to:


Category Scope – Develop, execute and implement sourcing strategies for indirect categories in EMEA region. Represents the region and participates in category development and implementation programs, such as SSC (Strategic Sourcing Councils) forums. Liaises well across all GP and business functions to ensure regional category spends are managed in line with agreed Regional and Global GP sourcing strategies.

Sourcing Management – Participates in the development of category sourcing strategies and ensure robust execution of same within region. Be a strong Sourcing Management Process expert and uses the SMP tools and practices as a way to create and implement source plans to manage assurance of supply, quality, service, cost, innovation and compliance and oversee sustainable value delivery throughout. Responsible for presenting strategy and supplier award decisions and apply for approval according to the our company's GP process and requirements

Proactive Cost Management: Achieves cost control, cost reduction, and cost containment targets, and adds value to areas of expenditure through a strong total cost focus. Develops a cost reduction pipeline for indirect categories in region, which is aligned to the overall global strategy. Ensure proper reporting and documenting in accordance with the company policies and standards.     

Market Knowledge: Links market knowledge to regional requirements and category spend by supporting the creation of breakthrough strategies and value creation.

Supplier Management: Responsible for building relationships with suppliers and managing supplier performance against business requirements using proven processes; ensures adequate inclusion of diversity suppliers in RFPs and contracts as applicable. Is responsible to perform supplier assessments according to the company standards and policy.

Stakeholder Management and Business Sponsorship:  Represents Global Procurement across the region. Understanding category supply strategies and agreements and describing the benefits to regional stakeholders. Assists in analyzing customer’s future business needs and provides holistic opportunity analysis based on strategic category management methodology. Responsible for engaging assigned stakeholders and partners across divisions and across countries to define, meet and/or exceed business requirements and identify and manage profit plan savings targets. Understands strategic business requirements at 1-3-5 year horizon and align to category objectives. 

Compliance: ensuring compliance with our company local and global Purchasing policies and standards.

Value creation: Seek and implement opportunities to drive value (e.g. strategy, cost and quality) for our company.

Service Mindset: Very strong focus on developing and managing Stakeholder relationships to help drive commercial, strategic, operational and transformational ojbectives

Requisitos de la oferta


Education:  University degree preferably in economics, business or engineering. MBA or advanced degree is desirable.


Experience: Greater than 5years’ experience in strategic category sourcing in an international and cross functional environment. Should have strong experiences in strategic sourcing, supplier management and stakeholder management activity throughout.

Specific past experience in leading Creative Supply Chain type categories (e.g. Creative, Adaption, Digital, Media, Print, Exhibits etc.) and/or HR Services (Contingent Labour, L&D, RPO etc) would be advantageous


Skills: Knowledge of Procurement related business processes (strategic category management methodology-SMP). Flexibility and demonstrates strong Leadership Standards and Values, with particular strengths in Championing Change, Communicate Candidly, Building Talent, Achieves Results. Fluency in English. Strong communication and influencing skills. Strong ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross functional team. Deep knowledge of basic tools: SAP, MS Office (excel, Word, Power Point).  Strong project management skills are required.
